Anti-Troll Kit

Objective
The main objective was to separate the Anti-Troll Kit from the City of Trois-Rivières’ platform in order to create a neutral website, unaffiliated with any police force or specific entity. This transition was intended to reinforce the perception of an impartial and accessible tool, while maintaining ownership of the site by the Trois-Rivières Police Department. The new site was also to include an English-language version, thereby expanding its reach and accessibility.

Visual identity
The redesign of the Anti-Troll Toolkit’s visual identity aims to convey a message that is both serious and accessible. The new logo, with its bold and assertive typography, reflects the seriousness of the issue of bullying, while incorporating a playful touch thanks to the ears attached to the letter “O” in Troll. This subtle blend reinforces the initiative’s caring and engaging approach, echoing its mission of prevention among young people.

Artistic direction
The new website features an immersive and creative artistic direction, designed for its target audiences: children aged 8 to 11 and teens aged 12 to 17. The videos associated with the platform feature a polished look that aligns with the overall visual identity. This artistic consistency ensures a harmonious and engaging experience across all communication channels, thereby enhancing the impact and accessibility of the message.

Video production
Kryzalid developed the scripts based on materials provided by the client. To bring these messages to life, we partnered with Agence Marie Deslongchamps to select young talent who brought authenticity and energy to the productions. Director Sacha Bourque crafted a polished production style tailored to the audience’s age group. The videos aim to inform in an engaging way while offering practical advice.
Secondary target audiences
The website is designed to meet the specific needs of various target audiences. In addition to the main sections dedicated to young people, it offers a wide range of resources for parents to support them in guiding their children and promoting their well-being. Practical tools are also available to school staff to help them in their role of providing support and raising awareness.

An evolving project
Since its launch, the Anti-Troll Toolkit has continued to evolve to better address the realities experienced by young people. At the request of the Ministry of Families, a new series of video capsules was created to broaden the scope of the platform beyond cyberbullying alone and address bullying in a wider context. Kryzalid supported this new phase of the project by integrating the new content, adapting existing pages, and optimizing the user experience across both web and mobile platforms.

Key feature
The warning link is an effective tool that allows young people to set boundaries against inappropriate online behavior. By sharing this link in a conversation, they send a clear message to the bully: their actions must stop. The warning displayed is intended to deter the bully from continuing. It also emphasizes that more serious measures may be taken if the behavior persists.

Result
The site stands out for its clear and intuitive layout, allowing users to navigate easily through its sections. Quick access to the disclaimer link enhances its practicality and accessibility. Visually, the site combines dynamism with a professional look, striking the perfect balance between engagement and professionalism. Built with WordPress, it offers an easy learning curve for internal teams. The WPML plugin facilitates bilingual management, ensuring an inclusive reach.
