Éditions Alto


Goal
Redesign the e-commerce platform for Éditions Alto to infuse it with a modern visual sensibility, encouraging exploration and the discovery of new reads, whether in print, audio, or digital formats.



User experience
User experience is at the heart of this redesign. To simplify navigation, the Alea and (aparté) websites were removed from their subdomains and integrated directly into the main site. While they are now an integral part of the primary navigation, both sections maintain their distinct visual identities.


Search and filter
The catalog now includes the ability to filter books, formats, origins, and genres directly from the dropdown menu, creating a personalized experience. All these filters are also available on the catalog listing page, allowing users to continue refining their search seamlessly.

Artistic direction
The design is unified by a monochrome palette of black, white, and gray. It is brought to life with the addition of a unique accent color linked to the book or project being showcased. Graphic elements, such as crop marks, are incorporated to reflect original printing methods. The final result is dynamic and personalized.

Enhanced detail page
A book’s detail page includes essential information such as the description, available print or digital formats, as well as links to an excerpt, a quote, awards received, press highlights, an author summary, and related titles at the bottom of the page.

Administration
The website administration is built with WordPress, and product sales are managed through the WooCommerce module. It provides tax management, shipping cost calculations, inventory management and a payment system. It also offers sales statistics and other tools to enable the Éditions Alto team to excel online.
